The main components of an automobile are

Frame
Chassis
Body
Power unit
Transmission system.


FRAME

Actually frame is known as the skeleton of an automobile.

          Types


A) Conventional frame

It is also known of non load carrying frame .

It has two long side member and two or more cross members, joined together with the help of rivets and bolts.

Generally used frame sections are

1) Channel section for good bending resistance

2) Tubular section for good torsion resistance

3) Box section good for both bending and torsion resistance.




Semi integral frame

In some vehicles half frame is fixed in the front end on which the engine gearbox and the front

suspension mounted. It is because of the vehicle is met with an accident the front frame can be taken easily for the replace  for the damage.

Integral/ untidiest frame 

In this type of construction there is no separate frame. It's a unibody construction.

units are attached to the body. it is cheaper and due to less weight it is economical.



CHASSIS

Chassis is a frame with basic components like

BODY

Body is a superstructure of the Automobile and is bolted or welded with chassis.
